Soccer Buckets

Objective of the game
Soccer Buckets is a fun, competitive hybrid game that combines the precision of shooting (firearm) with the kicking skills of soccer. The goal is to knock down as many buckets as possible by kicking a soccer ball into buckets that are sitting on an elevated platform in a triangle formation.
Players & Equipment
- Players:
- Can be played 1v1 or in teams of 2, 3, or 4 players.
- Each player takes turns kicking the ball towards the buckets.
- Equipment:
- 1 Soccer Ball: A standard size 3, 4, or 5 soccer ball is used.
- 6 Buckets: Large 5 gallon buckets arranged in a triangle.
- Playing Area: A flat surface such as grass, turf, pavement, or a gym floor.
- An elevated platform (small bench) to set the buckets on top of
- Marking Line: A designated kicking line (typically 10-15 feet from the bucket setup).
Game Setup
- Choosing Teams:
- Players divide into teams or play individually.
- Determine Starting Team:
- A coin toss or random selection determines who goes first.
- Setting Up the Buckets:
- The 6 buckets are arranged in a standard triangle formation on top of the bench at the end of the playing area.
- Marking the Kicking Line:
- The kicking line should be 10-15 feet from the buckets.
Gameplay
- Kicking the Ball
- Players take turns kicking the ball from behind the kicking line, aiming to knock down the buckets.
- Each player gets 3 kicks.
- The goal is to knock down all the buckets in 3 kicks.
- Scoring System
- Strike (X): Knocking down all 6 buckets on the first kick earns a strike (6 points).
- Spare (/): If a player knocks down all 6 pins within two kicks, they score a spare (6 points + bonus points from next kick).
- Open Frame: If a player does not knock down all the buckets after three kicks, their score is the total number of buckets knocked down.
- Resetting the Buckets
- After three kicks the buckets are reset for the next player
- Alternating Turns
- Players take turns in frames
- A standard game consists of 10 frames per player or team
Winning the Game
- The player or team with the highest total score after 10 frames wins.
- If there is a tie, players enter a sudden-death frame, where each player gets one kick to score the most pins.
Additional Rules & Variations
- Foul Line
- Players must kick from behind the kicking line.
- Kicks taken past the line do not count.
- Trick Shot Mode (Optional)
- Players can attempt chip shots, curve shots, or volleys for style points and added difficulty.
- Team Play Variation
- Teammates alternate kicks each round to balance gameplay.
